The centre's training programmes are designed to accelerate learning via the concentration of skill-based training programmes using specific experiential-type training equipment.

With a capacity to train 400 operations and drilling technicians a year, the centre's main facilities include:

• A unique operations training plant (OTP), designed and fitted out by Petrofac, which offers technicians a complete experience of starting up and operating the plant in a safe environment

• An experiential learning simulator, consisting of a multi-million dollar drilling control room facility for training drillers in the safe and efficient operation of the modern drilling equipment on the new platforms in the Caspian Sea

• Specialised kit, used extensively within the oil & gas industry, housed in a large, fully equipped workshop, which provides the foundations for underpinning knowledge and practical experience. 30 classrooms and offices house both physical and virtual equipment for production and drilling training.

Experienced and qualified trainers have been sourced from around the world to ensure that all technicians, regardless of their current or destined work location, are trained to be a value added competent employee.
